BDayMap Support
What is BDayMap?
BDayMap keeps birthdays and reminds you in time. You add your own birthday and other people, then set a reminder for each person. The app runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. There is no account, no ads, and no purchases.
How do I add my own birthday?
On first launch, set the day and month of your own birthday, or skip it. Your own birthday has no photo. You can set it later from the home screen.
How do I add another person?
Add a person with a name, a photo, and a date. The year is optional. Open that person to change the name, photo, date, or reminders. The date is changed from the date row.
How do reminders work?
For each person you can remind yourself on the day, one day before, three days before, one week before, or a custom number of days. Each reminder has its own time. Notifications are optional and are sent only after you create a reminder. The system asks for notification permission at that point.
How do the Home Screen widgets work?
The Birthday widget shows one person you choose, together with a color. The Upcoming birthdays widget shows the next four birthdays and a color. A tap on either widget opens the app.
What does the Apple Watch show?
The Apple Watch shows the same list as the app. Your own birthday is at the top and has no photo. Other people can show a photo.
How does iCloud sync work?
iCloud sync is off until you turn it on in Settings. When it is on, birthdays, photos, and reminders stay the same across devices signed in with the same Apple ID. BDayMap uses your private iCloud database. The app has no account of its own, and the developer does not read that data.
Can I import birthdays from Contacts?
On the Mac, Settings can import birthdays from Contacts. Only contacts that already have a birthday are offered. Name, date, and photo stay on the device. The import is optional, and it is not available as a required step on iPhone or iPad.
Does BDayMap use location, ads, or a map?
No. BDayMap has no ads, no purchases, no location, and no map. Birthdays, names, photos, and reminders stay on your device unless you turn on iCloud sync.
Is BDayMap available on the App Store?
Not yet. BDayMap is being prepared and is not public on the App Store. It will be free. This support page will be updated when the app is released.
